Wadley's EMS Inc.
Purcell, OK
Wadley's Emergency Medical Services provides ambulance coverage to a fairly large coverage area.
Terrain in their coverage varies from rolling farm fields and small towns to a small city with
population near 6,000 and a busy interstate. Wadley's provides services to two of Oklahoma's
Department of Corrections Installations, including the maximum security Joseph Harp facility.

Wadley's EMS is an Advanced Level Service, meaning that one or more EMT-Paramedics are on duty at all times.
The service runs four ambulances continuously, with several standby units for mass casualty incidents or
special events. Wadley's EMS works closely with both
Mediflight
and
Air-Evac
to provide air transport when illness or injury warrant it.
As an EMT-B that had the opportunity to start off in emergency medicine at Wadley's EMS, I have to say there
would be no place better to begin in this field. With opportunities to work with nursing homes, prisons,
remote country home incidents, interstate and rural highway wrecks, different volunteer and professional
fire services, various law enforcement agencies, etc. etc., one will gain invaluable range of experience
with this dynamic service. It really mixes a little of the slower-paced rural service experience with the
busy and stressful aspects of a city service. Call volume ranges from a few calls a day to well above 15.
I would like to thank Wadley's EMS Inc. for the invaluable experiences they gave me, and hope to continue
my work with them in the future.
